My name is River, the soul behind the lens. I’m a Haligonian who grew up in a small town on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Spending endless amounts of time by the oceanside & forest, my eyes see a warm, authentic version of life.. which I reflect in my work.
My journey into photography is one of my earliest & fondest memories. I started capturing landscapes alongside my father during our walks in the woods, fishing trips and time spent by the LaHave River - hence where I got my name from.
I brought photography back into my life in 2017 by capturing landscapes on my daily walks to reground myself. With a turn of events and a sudden loss of my marketing career in 2019, my full time job became photography overnight. I’ve never looked back since; only to reminisce the growth into this beautiful, loving, unpredictable journey.
I’m a massive introvert who comes out of my shell when I have a camera in hand, it’s instant magic. A top tier virgo with perfectionism as my biggest strength and weakness. Often putting too much of myself into this job but it’s truly my life, my purpose, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve found who I’m meant to be; a documenter of life and I’m so thrilled to make your real-time memory last a lifetime.
